Success for Local Wheat Growers. The Moree Dryland Wheat Crop competition winners were announced in the Border News recently. With more than 35 crops entered from across the district it was pleasing to see that our clients faired very well. Moree East Division winners were Rob and Dave Anderson of Maneroo Pastoral Co and the Moree West Division runner up was Darryl Bartelen of Krui Plains. What a great result. Congratulations

Changes in the Government Guarantee on Term Deposits Below are some extracts of key points: · A permanent guarantee of $250,000 for deposits will be in place effective from 1 February 2012. · The $250,000 cap applies per person, per Australian deposit-taking institutions. · All deposits will continue to be guaranteed to $1 million until the new scheme comes into effect on 1 February 2012. · Existing term deposits which existed on 10 September 2011 will be covered up to $1 million until 31 December 2012 or until the deposit matures — whichever occurs sooner. It may be well worthwhile for investors with term deposits over $250,000 to consider strategies to deal with these changes. However before making any decision to spread your term deposit investments across financial institutions consideration should also be given to cost of switching.

50 years of Service 21November 2011 saw long time employee of C & W Partners, Doug Tickle, celebrate 50 years of service with the firm. Doug began work in 1961 with Cummins & Wallace and apart from a couple of years National Service has been with our firm ever since. Doug has seen many changes in operations over the past fifty years from the days of manual accounting to the implementation of computers and the hi tech equipment of today. Lots of staff have come and gone, so too Partners of the firm. In the past few years Doug, and his wife Ros, have had many travels around our great land and now have begun to see the wider world having visited both NZ and Fiji this year.
